The Normalization Committee tasked to reform Ghana football have confirmed to Citi Sports that discussions are underway to renew the contract of Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah.

The former Al Khartoum manager signed a two year contract under the Kwesi Nyantakyi administration which ends in April 2018.

There has been the need to renew coach Kwesi Appiah’s contract.

Primarily because at the time he was being signed as the Black Stars coach he was given a two year contract with the arrangement that the Afcon will be played in January 2019.

Fortunately of unfortunately it has been shifted to June so if we don’t renew his contract it will mean that by June contractually he will not be an employee of the Ghana Football Association so there is the need to renew.

There have been preliminary meetings between Coach Kwesi Appiah,Dr Kofi Amoah and Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah.

The details are yet to be made public because it has not been finalized yet,” Spokesperson for the Normalization Committee Dan Kweku Yeboah revealed”.

The Black Stars will face Kenya in March to decide who tops Group F in the qualifying series.
