Ghana registered her first medal at the ongoing Africa Weightlifting Championship in Egypt, with Winnifred Ntumi claiming bronze in the Women’s 49kg bodyweight category.

Ntumi, the first Ghanaian to compete at the championship, added yet another medal to her collection after claiming bronze at the African Youth Championship last year.

Ghana is being represented by six athletes, two females and four males, in 5 weight different categories.

2018 Youth Olympian Sandra Mensimah Owusu is set to compete in the 59kg category on Friday.
