Head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, CK Akonnor, says he is happy at the club and is not bothered about the constant speculation around his future.

Kotoko reached the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup and are top of Zone A of the ongoing NC Special Competition.

But that has not stopped stories about an imminent departure of Akonnor from circulating in the media.S

Speaking after his team’s 2-0 win over Berekum Chelsea in Kumasi, Akonnor said the rumours do not bother him.

“I’m here [at Kotoko] with a 3-year contract and I’m happy. There will come a time when Kotoko will not be happy with me and will ask me to go and that’s normal.

“I was once with Ashgold, and they were not happy with me and I left. If Kotoko are not happy with me, they will ask me to leave and that’s normal. But I don’t concern myself with those rumours [that he will be sacked]. I know I will not be here forever,” he said.
