Kotoko forward, Abdul Fatawu Safiu, has made the team’s coach, C.K. AKonnor, a very happy man and he did not hide his excitement after the team’s 2-0 win over Berekum Chelsea on Wednesday in the Normalisation Committee Special Competition.

Safiu scored a delightful Panenka penalty in the second half of the game to seal the result and take his tally to 6 in the competition.

After the game, Akonnor shared his opinions of the player to the media.

“He is doing well. He is brave and he has shown his qualities and he is telling that we did a good thing to bring him here to Kotoko. We are very happy to have him.”

Safiu is currently leading the scorer’s chart in the competition after having scored against 2 against Eleven Wonders and AshGold respectively and single strikes against Bechem United and Berekum Chelsea.

The expectations are that he will continue his scoring ways in the second round with Kotoko playing at Berekum Chelsea.

Kotoko currently lead the Zone A table of the Special Competition with 13 points from 6 matches played.
