Match Week 6 of the ongoing Normalization Committee Special Competition concluded with WAFA winning a thrilling 5-goal contest against Hearts of Oak while the likes of Ashantigold and Karela also suffered defeats. Ebusua Dwarfs meanwhile recorded their first win of the competition.

In Sogakope, WAFA beat Accra Hearts of Oak 3-2 in a thrilling contest. Jamal Haruna, Daniel Lomotey and Bortey Acquaye scored for the academy boys while full-backs Fatawu Mohammed and Christopher Bonney grabbed the goals for Hearts of Oak.

In Dansoman, Simon Zibo’s 3oth minute strike handed Liberty Professionals a 1-0 win over Dreams FC, while Yaw Antwi’s goal made the difference in Berekum to hand Chelsea a 1-0 win over Ashantigold.

Medeama returned to winning ways with a 1-0 home win over struggling Eleven Wonders with Kalibo Dedy Toussanit’s goal all they needed to secure the 3 points.

In Tema, Ebusua Dwarfs got their first win of the competition, beating Inter Allies thanks to Isaac Donkor’s first-half strike. Samuel Adam’s second-half penalty cancelled out Emmanuel Owusu’s opener, as Bechem United and Aduana shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in Bechem.

Elmina Sharks leapfrogged Karela into third place after a 2-0 win in Elmina. Benjamin Amonoo’s effort two minutes into the game, and Benjamin Tweneboah’s strike two minutes from time sealed the all-important three points at the Ndoum Stadium.

WAFA are now top of the Southern Zone, with Liberty in 2nd place, while Kotoko remain top of the Northern Zone, with Medeama second.
