Black Stars captain Andre Ayew has congratulated General captain of the side Asamoah Gyan on his enstoolment in Hohoe.

Asamoah Gyan was installed as Ngoryifia-Doemenyotor of the St. Francis College of Education and the Gbi traditional area in the Hohoe municipality of the Volta Region, with the title translating as the ‘Kind-hearted, Progressive Chief’.

This installment was in recognition of Gyan’s contributions towards finding a sustainable solution to an age-old water crisis that saddled the College of Education.

The footballer, through his Foundation, provided St. Francis College of Education with a $3,000 mechanized borehole.

Speaking at a farewell dinner organized by President Akufo Addo for the Black Stars at the Jubilee House, Ayew spoke of how proud the team was of Gyan’s achievements.

“I spoke to Gyan and we are all happy for him. We now have a chief with us in the squad,” he said.

The Black Stars are expected to leave the country for Dubai on June 1, for pre-AFCON camping, where they will play two high profile international friendlies against Namibia and South Africa.

Ghana has been drawn in Group F, where they will take on Cameroon, Benin and Guinea Bissau.
