Kwesi Appiah names final 23-man squad

Majeed Waris and Ebenezer Ofori dropped

Black Stars Head Coach Kwesi Appiah has  named his final 23-man squad for the upcoming AFCON in Egypt, with no place for FC Nantes forward Majeed Waris.

The 27 year old misses out along with Hearts of Oak defender Mohammed Alhassan, Kotoko’s Abdul Fatawu, Yaw Yeboah and Ebenezer Ofori.

Swansea City midfielder, André Ayew, will lead the Black Stars for this year’s tournament, which has been expanded to 24 teams from 16.

The team also includes Kotoko shot stopper Felix Annan, Samuel Owusu and Kwabena Owusu who will be making their debuts at the tournament.

The Black Stars will take on Bafana Bafana of South Africa on June 15 in their last pre tournament friendly in Dubai, before the team heads to Egypt.
