Peter Drury Is The Face Of SuperSport’s New Football Season

The versifier of the volley, the balled-monger of the beautiful game, and the wordsmith of world football Peter Drury is the face of SuperSport’s new football season campaign.

A commentator since 1998, Drury has commentated on football’s greatest stage, the FIFA World Cup final, as well as many a Champions League and English Premier League matches.

Renowned the world over for his iconic verses in some of football’s greatest moments, he will for the first time headline a marketing campaign.

Not one for the limelight, Drury, who describes himself as “a man who shouts footballer’s names for a living”, narrates a piece which hypes fans up for the upcoming season.

Off the back of a gobsmacking 2018/19 season which saw thrilling upsets and enthralling title races, the spot makes fans feel the way they do when watching live football.

The 2019/20 season already has fans salivating and transfer talk has tongues wagging, with big-name players like Eden Hazard, Neymar and Matthijs de Ligt already making waves.

The new season kicks off on August 4 with the mouth-watering Community Shield encounter between the champions of Europe, Liverpool, and the champions of England, Manchester City.

Showcasing unrivalled coverage of all Premier League, Champions League, PSL, La Liga, and Serie A matches as well as a host of international football, SuperSport is a footballing fan’s ultimate destination.

Catch the first major game of the season, Community Shield between Liverpool and Manchester City on SS3 (DStv channel 223) and SS10 (DStv channel 210) at 2pm on Sunday, 4 August.
