“One of the best national team goals I have ever scored”- Yaw Yeboah on winning goal vs Algeria

Maybe it was the occasion. Maybe it when the goal scored. Perhaps, it was even how the goal came about.

Whatever it is, Black Meteors skipper, Yaw Yeboah, has placed his goal against Algeria in Setif in the U-23 AFCON Qualifiers in a very high place in his career and says it ranks among some of the finest he has bagged for his country.

The goal was scored in the 68th minute and it was the difference for Ghana as it meant a 2-1 aggregate victory over the North Africans and a ticket to the U-23 AFCON in Egypt in November and Yeboah spoke about the goal after the match.

“I think it was a fantastic goal that I scored from distance. I took the ball and I was able to go through a crowd of three or four players. It is one of the best goals I have scored for the national team.

I have scored a lot for my club and now, I have this goal for Ghana and I am happy about this.

The most important thing is that we have qualified and I give praise to the whole team and the coaches for the help and support and we thank God for this.”

Now that qualification is out of the way, Ghana will now focus on the main competition in Egypt in November where they will have fight it out with 7 other countries for three slots in the 2020 Olympic Games football tournament.
