Teofimo Lopez will easily defeat Richard Commey – Devin Haney

WBC International lightweight title holder, Devin Haney, has tipped American-Honduran fighter Teofimo Lopez to easily beat Ghana’s Richard Commey in their upcoming World Title bout.

Commey, the IBF world lightweight champion, will mount his second title defense against Lopez in three months.

Haney, who is ranked the world’s fourth-best active lightweight boxer by The Ring magazine and ninth by Transnational Boxing Rankings Board, believes Lopez could become world champion with the right approach against Commey.

“I think Teofimo should win the bout,” he told fighthype.com.

“I think if he[Lopez] boxes well and uses his speed well he should win fairly easily. But if he decides to go fire with fire, it’ll certainly be a long night for him.”

Commey will go head to head with Lopez at the Madison Square Garden, New York, on December 14, with the winner billed to take on Ukraine’s Vasyl Lomachenko in early 2020 for a chance to be undisputed champion.
