African Games gold medalist, Ghana, have been handed a difficult line up in their semi final heat of the 4x100m relays on Friday.

The quartet of Sean Safo-Antwi, Benjamin Azamati, Martin Owusu Antwi and Joseph Paul Amoah, will have to contend with defending champions Great Britain, silver medalist from two years ago, USA, 2015 champions Jamaica and world relay champions Brazil, in Heat 1.

Ghana must finish in the first 4 with a good time to stand any chance of progressing to Saturday’s final.

The Americans have 100m gold and silver medalist Christian Coleman and Justin Gatlin, as well as 200m gold medalist Noah Lyles in their line up.

Jamaica also have 100m finalist Yohan Blake as world as 2017 110m hurdles champion James McLeod in their line up.

The men’s 4x100m relay semi finals is on Friday at 18:05GMT.
