GFA Elections: Osei Palmer heading to CAF, FIFA and CAS over disqualification

For Tema Youth CEO, Wilfred Osei, the path to become the next President of the Ghana FA, will now include a journey to the Confederation of African Football, FIFA and the  Court of Arbitration for Sport.

This new twist has become a latest line of action after the Ghana FA’s Election Committee said that the appeal against his disqualification from the race was unsuccessful.

Osei and his team had stated on Wednesday that had filed all the needed paperwork and they had done so within the stipulated time frame.

But a letter from the Ghana FA’s Elections Committee which was signed by Naa Odofoley Nortey has indicated that Osei had not fulfilled all requirements needed to make a successful appeal and thus, his disqualification was in full force.

Sources close to the the Tema Youth owner tell Citi Sports that Osei will seek the audience of CAF, FIFA and CAS to see if he can officially make it back into the race for the GFA Presidency.

The indication from Osei’s camp is that he is willing to exhaust all means available to him so that he can participate in the GFA Elections set for October 25.

GFA already decided my fate- Wilfred Osei

In statement issued on Wednesday evening, Osei hinted at the possibility of the GFA not wanting him to compete in the elections.

He stated that he had filed all the needed documentation but the GFA revealed information to the contrary. He added that he would go to all lengths to get the decision reversed to enable him participate in the elections.
