Captain of the Black Stars, Andre Ayew, says he is content with the team’s performance in their two AFCON 2021 qualifying matches against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe.

Ghana’s Black Stars beat Sao Tome 1-0 in the second AFCON 2021 Qualifiers played on Monday to maintain a 100 percent start, having opened the qualifiers with a 2-0 win over  Bafana. Bafana 4 days prior.

A second-half Jordan Ayew’s penalty gave Kwesi Appiah’s men their second win in the qualifiers in as many matches.

“I am very happy, I want to congratulate the boys for what they have done so far. The camp has been brilliant, and discipline has been perfect.

Every plan we had was executed very well, we have six points and no one in our group was able to do that.

This is just the beginning and it’s good we have been able to get these points and I hope we are able to continue like that”.

The Black Stars now top Group C with six points and will play Sudan in the third round of qualifiers in August 2020.
