Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Dr. Kwame Kyei, must resign from the club for superintending over an embarrassing Africa campaign in which the club failed to make the group stages of both the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup, according to the National Circles Chairman of the club, Kwaku Amponsah.

This comes after the Porcupine Warriors crashed out of the CAF Confederation Cup at hands of San Pedro on Sunday.

After their exit from the Champions League, Kotoko were hoping to make it to the group stages of the CAF Confederation cup, but an uninspiring performance in Abidjan brought their campaign to a premature end.

”I always get people insulting whenever I say something about Dr Kwame Kyei but this is the time for him to resign because he’s the main problem of the club,” Amponsah said on Kumasi-based Ashh FM.

“I blame Dr Kwame Kyei because he always associates himself with people who will always bow down to his feet and not people who can tell him the truth”

“Dr. Kwame Kyei is suppose to associate himself with people who can advise him and tell him the truth whenever he’s going wrong because everyone is bound to make mistakes”

“People have come and go, so its now time for Dr. Kwame Kyei to also resign because he has nothing good to offer to Kotoko again. He has finished what he came to do for the Club”

Kweku Amponsah who is affectionately call ‘Chairman K5’ also revealed Kotoko management hired the service of Oti Akenten to get Zachariassen a certificate.

“Management pleaded to Oti Akenteng to help them get a certificate for the Coach so that he can stay at Kotoko”

“It’s very painful how things are happening in the team and we must handle the affairs of the team with the truth” He added.
