U-23 AFCON: Tanko names his final squad for tournament

Black Meteors head coach, Ibrahim Tanko, has put together his final team for this month’s U-23 AFCON tournament in Egypt.

The team has 21 players and they will be tasked with getting Ghana one of the three tickets allocated to Africa for the 2020 Olympic Games football tournament.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko has called up the likes of Yaw Yeboah, Kwabena Owusu and former Inter Allies forward, Ropapa Mensah into the team.

Other players like Simon Zibo, Kingsley Fobi, Emmanuel Lomotey and Evans Mensah have all been given places in the team for the tournament.

Ghana is in Group A together with Egypt, Mali and Cameroon.

The tournament runs from November 8 to 22, 2019.

Below is the full squad for the tournament:

Goalkeepers: Kwame Baah (Asante Kotoko), Richmond Ayi (Hearts of Oak), Ibrahim Danlad (Asante Kotoko)
Defenders: Kingsley Fobi (CB Badajoz, Spain), Edward Sarpong (Esperanca de Lagos, Spain) Emmanuel Cudjoe (Attram De Visser), Fuseini Zackaria (Berekum Chelsea), William Ntori, Dankyi (Hearts of Oak), Mohammed Habib (Asante Kotoko), Robin Polley (ADO Den Haag)
Midfielders: Evans Osei Wusu (Tema Youth), Simon Zibo (Vitoria Guimaraes, Portugal), Nurudeen Abdul-Aziz (Vision FC), Emmanuel Addoquaye Lomotey (Extremadura, Spain), Yaw Yeboah (Celta Vigo, Spain), Evans Mensah (HJK Helsinki, Finland), Michael Agbekpornu (Dreams FC).
Strikers: Frank Arhin (Dalkurd, Sweden), Kwabena Owusu (Cordoba, Spain) Ropapa Mensah (Nashville SC), Samuel Obeng Gyabaa (Real Oviedo)
