Azumah Nelson launches ‘Year of Return’ fight night

Azumah Nelson Boxing Promotions has launched the 8th edition of the Azumah Nelson Fight Night dubbed “The Year of Return”.

The event will happen on the 27th December 2019 at the Bukom Boxing Arena with boxers fighting for supremacy and titles.

Azumah Nelson will be partnering with ABSA Group Limited for the event.

Speaking at the press conference to launch the boxing night, the Head of Marketing and Communications for ABSA, Cyril Nail, expressed his excitement to be partners for the event.

“As a brand, we are dedicated to committing people’s dreams with financial opportunities and that is our primary commitment.

This is a partnership and I hope as a relationship it grows and it’s sustained.”

Partnering with the committee for the organization of “Year of Return”, the manager Annabella Renee McKenzie said it is an awesome feeling to work with the legend, Azumah Nelson.

She added that it is a part of the committee’s plan to incorporate Azumah Nelson Boxing Night as a major event under the “Year of Return” umbrella.

Boxing legend, Azumah Nelson in his speech thanked the sponsors and encouraged Ghanaians to come and enjoy the best of boxing fights at the arena.

“I want to thank the sponsors for being a part of this.

You see these boxers here, on the 27th, you will see them and ask yourself if indeed they are the ones I saw them here.

I urge everyone to be present, come and enjoy the night and have fun”.

PBC Lightweight and Interim National Lightweight Title – Michael Ansah vs Benjamin Lamptey.

Here are the boxing bouts that will go on during the fight night:

  1. PBC Lightweight and Interim National Lightweight Title – Michael Ansah vs Benjamin Lamptey.
  2. National and WABU Super Featherweight Title – Felix Ajom vs Michael Pappoe.
  3. Super Middleweight contest – Ishmael Tetteh vs Delali Miledzi.
  4. International Super Welterweight contest – Musa Lawson vs Naimou Samson Aziz.
  5. International Super Lightweight contest – Faisal Abubaka vs Sossa Cudjo Hypolite.
  6. Super Bantamweight contest – Manyo Plange vs Isaac Nettey.
