#GHPLWk5: Inter Allies score late equalizer to secure crucial 1-1 draw with WAFA

West Africa Football Academy traveled to the Accra Sports Stadium and was held to a 1-1  draw by Inter Allies in Game Week 5 of the Ghana Premier League

The home side dominated in the early stages of the game and came close, on several occasions, to taking the lead.

Either side could have taken the lead but saw their beautifully placed free kicks parried away by the goalkeepers.

WAFA’s Eric Asamany capitalized on an Addo Ernest’s poor clearance and headed the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper of Inter Allies before Richard Acquah’s attempted clearance ended up in his own net.

The home side looked a much more determined side in their quest for an equalizer in the second half but the brilliance of the WAFA goalkeeper kept them at bay.

Allies eventually found a leveler when captain, Victorien Adebayor finished off a move in the 86th minute of the game.

WAFA failed to clear a loose ball in the 18-yard-box before the captain blasted a shot into the net to send the home fans into a frenzy.

The away side looked a shadow of themselves as they sat deep in their half and soaked the pressure mounted by Inter Allies.

With three minutes added, Inter Allies pushed for the win but the brilliance of Ferdinand Sabi Acquah ensured that WAFA went back to Sogakope with a point.
