Host school, the University of Ghana handed University of Professional Studies its second straight defeat as they won 1-0 at the Legon Ajax Park 1 on Tuesday, January 7, 2019.

Kwame Antwi’s strike guided Legon to its second victory in the ongoing GUSA Games.

Both sides had numerous chances to snatch the win but Antwi’s goal was enough to secure all three points for the hosts.

GIJ’s jinx in penalties

The Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) also lost on penalties again but this time to the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT).

Eyram Dzakah put GIJ ahead but his goal was cancelled out by UMaT early in the second half.

The debutants lost on penalties for the second time in the competition as the shootout ended 4-3 in favour of the University of Mines and Technology.
