Black Stars head coach, C.K. Akonnor, believes that massive efforts and seriousness are the things that will send the team to FIFA 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Akonnor’s call comes after the draw for the second round of qualifying on the African continent was held in Cairo, Egypt on Tuesday evening.
Ghana will have to go past South Africa, Zimbabwe and Ethiopia to get to the final round of qualifying which will involve a playoff for a place in the competition.
After the draw, Akonnor revealed the team would have to give all of itself in every match against every opponent if Ghana would be in Qatar to represent the African continent.
“I cannot say that it is an easy group. It is important to respect all the teams. I know every team’s desire will be to qualify for the World Cup.
Ghana is a great footballing nation and it is our dream to get to the World Cup and we will put in the hard work to qualify.
We know that the other teams in the group will do their bit to go to Qatar too but we will put in hard work and we know that hard work pays.”
Ghana will be hoping to make another World Cup appearance after making it to the 2006, 2010 and 2014 editions.
