Discussions are currently ongoing to stage a friendly match between rivals Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko in London, Citi Sports has been told.

The said game is being put together by a Ghanaian entrepreneur and his London-based partner.

The game, if confirmed, will take place on Ghana’s Independence Day, 6th March, 2020.

The Hive Stadium in North-West London, home of English 5th tier side, Barnet FC, is the proposed venue of the game. The stadium has a capacity of 6,500 people.

The match, if confirmed, will represent a landmark game for Ghana football as it will mark the first time the two giants will be meeting outside the shores of Ghana.

George Amoako, Kotoko’s Chief Executive, revealed to Citi Sports in an interview that Kotoko have already set their sights on the game.

“Wherever we meet Hearts of Oak, we will beat them. There are plans to play them in London and if all arrangements go well, we will beat them there too.”
