Betway Ghana, SWAG train over 80 journalists at maiden sports writers conference

Betway Ghana in collaboration with the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has organized training sessions for sports journalists in Kumasi and Accra.

The two-region training dubbed “Betway Sports Writers Conference” was held on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, in Kumasi and was climaxed in Accra on Friday, February 7, 2020, at the Swiss Spirit Hotel & Suites Alisa.

At the climax of the maiden collaboration by Betway and SWAG in Accra, a lot of speakers came through to share their experiences in the game; from the use of social media, preparing for commentaries, and ethical reporting on women’s football, the legal aspects and broadcasting the game to the importance of research before a game as well as looking presentable at all times.

The main speakers of the event were Michael Oti Adjei, an ace sports journalist with TV3, Prosper Harrison Addo, the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Maurice Quansah, of the Graphic Communications Group, who doubles as the vice president of SWAG.

Other speakers were Gary Al-Smith (Joy FM), Godfred Akoto Boafo (Head of Current Affairs, Citi FM), Akosua Addai Amoo (AIPS Young Reporter), Ben Willie Graham (GBC), Elloeny Amande (CEO, Karela FC) and Nathaniel Attoh (Joy FM).
