Black Queens leave for Turkey for Women’s Invitational tournament

Players of the senior women’s national team, the Black Queens, have left for Turkey to participate in the 2020 Turkish Women’s Cup tournament, an invitational competition for women’s national teams from all over the world.

The competition, also called the Alanya City Gold Cup, is slated to come off from March 2-11 in the Turkish City of Alanya.

Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo left with a squad of 18 players that included experienced duo of Elizabeth Addo and Linda Eshun, who make a return to the national team for the first time since the Africa Women’s AFCON in December 2018.

There are also places in the team for Sherifatu Sumaila and former Black Princesses captain and goal machine, Princella Adubea.

The Black Queens will play Chile in the opening game on Wednesday March 4, 2020.
