Black Stars duo of Alfred Duncan and Andy Yiadom have shared messages of precaution and encouragement to Ghanaians in the wake of the spread of the Coronavirus around the world.

Ghana has been hit with 16 confirmed cases and the Government, through the Ministries of Information and Health and the Ghana Health Service, has been updating Ghanaians on the situation as well as giving tips on how to stay safe and healthy during the period.

The disease has crippled many industries including sports and stakeholders in the domain have also been engaged in public education in a bid to help curb its spread and in line with this, Duncan, who plays his football in Italy, and Yiadom, who plays in England, have been sharing their thoughts with Ghanaians through videos shared by the Ghana FA Twitter handle on Friday.

Yiadom gave his best wishes to the nation during the period of trying to deal with the spread of the Coronavirus.

Duncan gave his thoughts on what he had experienced in relation to the Coronavirus and asked Ghanaians to keep to safe and healthy practices.

“It is rather unfortunate that Ghanaians are experiencing Covid-19 at this time. Italy has experienced the worst but now, the situation is calm and I am doing well.

I would like to plead with Ghanaians to take the necessary precautions in order to help limit the spread of the virus in Ghana.”

The impact of Coronavirus on sports has been felt in Ghana with the Ghana Premier League being suspended for a period of four weeks as directed by the President, Nana Akufo Addo.

The President stated on March 15 that all public gatherings including religious services and sporting activities had been put on hold for a moth.

The Ghana FA also closed its offices on March 19 due to concerns over Coronavirus.
