Norwich keeper Krul writes Spurs players’ names, penalty directions on bottle; saves two kicks [VIDEO]

Norwich goalkeeper, Tim Krul has built up quite a reputation as a penalty expert.

And after his performance in Wednesday night’s shootout win over Tottenham, if the rest of the world hadn’t taken notice before, they will now.

Krul saved penalties from Spurs’ Troy Parrott and Gedson Fernandes as Norwich progressed to the quarterfinals of the FA Cup.

Kenny McLean’s first kick was saved by Michel Vorm, but then Erik Lamela hit the bar before Krul’s heroics.

The amount of preparation Krul does ahead of penalties was evident as he had written the names of some of the Spurs players on his water bottle and which sides they liked to aim for when playing penalties.

The list included Lo Celso, Eric Dier and Gedson Fernandes, whose penalty he saved.

Krul has already produced heroics from penalties this season, saving spot-kicks from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial in Norwich’s 3-0 loss to Manchester United earlier this season.

The Netherlands have also benefitted from Krul’s expertise from 12 yards.

In the Dutch’s World Cup quarter-final against Costa Rica in 2014, head coach, Louis van Gaal substituted his first-choice goalkeeper, Jasper Cillessen and brought on Krul with the match minutes away from a penalty shootout.

Before each Costa Rican took their penalty, the goalkeeper would speak to them, playing mind games.

Krul then proceeded to dive the right way for every single penalty and managed to save two of them, sending the Netherlands to the semi-finals.
