Coronavirus: Sports Ministry, NSA disinfect all sports facilities in Ghana

The Sports Ministry and the National Sports Authority have joined forces to disinfect all the sporting facilities in the country in a bid to fight the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The exercise was announced by the Sports Ministry on Monday via its Twitter handle.

The facilities have not been in use since March 15 when President Akufo Addo announced a month-long ban on all gatherings including those of a sporting nature.

The announcement was part of government’s measure to deal with the spread of the Coronavirus.

The disinfection, which is being done by fumigation, has happened in markets all over the country and now, sporting facilities have been added to the list of places that need to be cleaned.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Ghana Premier League has been put on hold and the offices of the Ghana FA have been closed until further notice.
