Richard Commey focused on recapturing title

Reading Time: 1 min read

Former IBF Lightweight champion, Richard Commey is eyeing an opportunity to reclaim his lost title.

Commey suffered a second round TKO defeat to American-Honduran, Teofimo Lopez last year, in the process surrendering his title.

The Ghanaian hasn’t been in action since that defeat, but Commey is determined to get back into the ring and reclaim his title.

The 33 year old disclosed on his future plans on his Twitter handle.

Looking forward to getting back to the US soon to reclaim my world title back, wanna thank my promoter @loudibella and my management of @Mickey_Moo and Keith Connolly and my trainer Andre Rozier for having faith in me! 🇬🇭🥊👊🏿

— Richard Commey (@RichardCommey) June 29, 2020

Commey became Ghana’s 10th world champion after claiming the IBF Lightweight title back in 2019, before his loss to Teofimo Lopez later that year.
