Ajax Amsterdam’s new signing, Kudus Mohammed has dedicated his signing to former Ajax player Abdelhak Nouri who was in an induced coma for almost three years.
Nouri, 23 in a friendly game against Werder Bremen on 8th July 2017 collapsed and was confirmed to have suffered permanent brain damage subsequently.
Kudus, who was unveiled as an Ajax Amsterdam player on 16th July 2020 in a Tweet dedicated his choice of jersey number to Nouri who once wore the number 34 at the club.
“I considered #34 but I dedicate my signing to @Abdelhak_Nouri a bro in faith to keep his dreams alive.”
The Ghanaian international said he considered the kit number 34 but chose “20” to honour the Dutch footballer whose roots are from Morocco.

Kudus, 19 joins Ajax from FC Nordsjaelland for a reported fee of 9 million Euros.
