Derek Boateng warns Partey against Arsenal move

Former Black Stars and Fulham midfielder Derek Boateng does not believe that a move to Arsenal will serve Thomas Partey well.

The Atletico Madrid versatile midfield general has been strongly linked with a move away from the La Liga side this summer with Arsenal being the most aggressive of his suitors.

Reports in Spain indicate that Partey has turned down a contract renewal offer giving a stronger indication that he will make the move away this summer.

Having played in the Spanish league himself,Derek Boateng has warned that Partey runs the risk of undoing all the hard work he has achieved with Atletico if he signs with a team that does not compete regularly in Europe.

“Arsenal are playing very well but you can see the inexperience hurting.

“If Partey wants to move he has to move to a team that plays in the Champions League else he will lose everything,” he told Joy Fm in an interview.

Despite giving little away himself regarding where his football will be played in future, Partey’s father and childhood friend Joseph Attamah – Larweh have urged him to join the Gunners.
