Atletico Madrid midfielder, Thomas Partey is set to sign a new bumper contract with the Madrid based side, amid transfer links to Arsenal, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish media outlet AS, Atleti will double the Ghanaian’s salary and release clause from €50m to €100m.
Arsenal have shown a strong interest in the 27-year-old, however it has been reported that he has decided to stay, having become a key part of Diego Simeone’s side in the last couple of years.
His current contract expires in 2023.
The news will come as another bitter pill for Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, who has spoken of the need to strengthen his side to put up more of a fight for Champions league football next season.
