Forward Joseph Esso’s time at Hearts of Oak didn’t quite end on the best note.
The former Dwarfs man failed to agree terms of a new deal with the Phobians, eventually leaving on a free, much to the frustration of many fans.
However, the forward who has been linked to a number of high profile clubs in the country, has attempted to patch things up with Hearts fans in a heartfelt farewell letter.
Esso posted on his official twitter page on Wednesday, “I have reached a decision on my career path, and I hope you understand the need for a fresh challenge, just as each and everyone of you should, when you have a chance to live your dream.
” The love and sport over the years was phenomenal and I’m really grateful. For each cheer from the stands, from the touching and from your digital distance, I appreciate you all.”

Esso joined Hearts on a free transfer in 2018 from Dwarfs, but has since not played a complete season for the Phobians due to the repeated cancellation of the league.
