Former Chelsea star Oscar wants to abandon Brazil to play for China [VIDEO]

Having spent the last three years in China, it appears former Chelsea playmaker, Oscar feels very much at home.

Oscar signed for Shanghai SIPG from the Blues in 2017 and has become the club’s most important player.

The midfielder has also played 48 times for the Brazilian national side but has not made an appearance in a while.

And from his recent comments, it appears that he fancies a new home.

Speaking to Sportscene, Oscar says his difficulty in getting back into the Brazil side is due to the fact that he is playing in what’s believed to be an inferior league.

He believes, however, that the people in China appreciate his performances and that he would be guaranteed a spot should be allowed to make a switch.

“Of course I can think about it because it’s difficult to go to the Brazil national team now because I’m here, but in China everyone sees how good I play.” he said.

“The China national team need one good midfielder, so I think I can help with this. I like China, but the players now who go to China to change their nationality, they can do better also.”

Oscar, however, will have to shelve any hopes of appearing in China’s colours as FIFA’s laws prevent players from switching international allegiances once they’ve already made a senior appearance in a competitive match for another nation.
