Ghana international Baba Idrissu had a remarkable 2019/2020 campaign with now relegated Mallorca in the Spanish La Liga.

The combative midfielder has been on the books of a number of teams in Europe following his fine form last season.

Some reports in Spain indicate that the 23 year old is being considered by Atletico Madrid as a possible replacement for compatriot, Thomas Partey, should the latter leave this summer.

Former Black Stars midfielder, Mohammed Gargo has urged Idrissu to push for a move away from Mallorca, to a much more recognized league.

”I think he [Baba Idrissu] should move,” he told Citi Sports.

” This is a great opportunity for him to take the next step in his career after what he did last season.

”If a club like Atletico Madrid has contacted him, then it means they’ve scored him and are aware of what he can do. He should leave.”

Baba Idrissu made 36 appearances for Mallorca last season, and has one of the highest ball recovery ratings in the La Liga.
