Ghanaian sprinter, Sean Safo-Antwi has won gold in the 100m race at the Orlen 66th Memorial of Janusz in Poland on Tuesday, August 25, 2020.

The 30-year-old beat American sprinter, Mike Rogers to finish first with a time of 10.23 seconds.

Orlen Memorial of Janusz is a ceremony used to mark the greatness of the city.

The event was supposed to take place earlier in the year but due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the event rather took place this month and Sean Safo-Antwi made Ghana proud.

Speaking in an interview on 3 Sports, the Ghanaian Olympian said he wanted to run a better time but the wind was against him.

“I have a good race today. It was alright. I expected more, I wanted to run probably faster than I have ever run before and bettered my personal best but the wind was against us. I will take it a day as it comes now. I managed to get the victory for Ghana and yeah I am happy.”

The 30-year-old was a member of the Ghanaian 4×100 team that won the gold medal in the African Games hosted in Rabat, Morocco.

He also featured for Ghana in the IAAF event hosted in Doha in 2019. He ran alongside Joseph Paul Amoah, Martin Owusu Antwi and Benjamin Azamati.
