Tanzanian FA clears Bernard Morrison after controversial transfer to Simba SC

Ghanaian Forward Bernard Morrison has been cleared by the Tanzanian Football Federation to play for Simba SC, following a complaint forwarded to them by the player’s former club, Young Africans (Tanga SC).

Last Saturday, Simba SC announced the signing of Morisson from Yanga SC on a free transfer, but Yanga deemed the signing illegal and insisted he was still their player despite being a free agent.

Yanga SC  then complained to the TFF that Morrison’s move was illegitimate.

After sitting on the matter on Wednesday, the Tanzanian Football Federation cleared Morrison and Simba SC of any wrongdoing.

The Federation ruled that Morrison is a free agent and as a result, the deal is legitimate.

Morrison will however have to pay Yanga SC $25,000 to be fully cleared and be allowed to play for Simba SC.

In a video posted on the Club’s official twitter handle, Morrison expressed his joy at signing for the newly crowned mainland league champions.

“I hope you welcome and love me like the way you love your players because I am very happy happy to join your club.

“I’m hoping to make you guys happy, so please accept me.

“I’m going to respect this club, every supporter and management of the club” he concluded.
