Depot Tennis Club Wins Maiden Holy Trinity Monthly Inter-Club Tennis Challenge

The Depot Tennis Club of Accra on Sunday emerged winners over Kaneshie Complex Tennis Club at the inaugural Holy Trinity Tennis Challenge (HTTC) in Sogakope.

The two teams competed in men’s singles, men’s Doubles, women’s singles, and mixed doubles.

In a keenly contested men’s singles final match Richard Borluvie of Depot Tennis Club beat Kaletec’s Charles Fletcher 7:6(4).

In the men’s Doubles, Depot Tennis Club’s Etornam Gblende and Fred Johnson Pasino beat Kaletec’s Happy Dzah and Dr. Kafui Tetteh 7:5.

The women’s singles final saw Oforiwaa Aboagye of Depot Tennis club beat Adubea Sarkodie of Kaletec 7:4.

Under the accreditation of Ghana Tennis Federation, winners of the monthly challenge will qualify for the Social Tennis Grand Slam to be held at the end of the year.

International standard facilities are also under consideration, to host other Confederation of African Tennis /International Tennis Federation events at the Holy Trinity Spa and Health Farm located in Sokakope.

Special Awards were presented to players who excelled in certain benchmark skills in lawn tennis.

Moses Oduro from Depot was awarded the play of the day whiles Stephen Angmor ,also of Depot Tennis club received the award for the best backhand shots and Katelec’s Adubea Sarkodie received the award for the most determined player.

Next month’s Holy Trinity spa monthly Competition will  see Ho Tennis Club of HO lock horns with Regional Maritime Tennis Club of Accra.
