Diego Maradona’s strange looking anti-Covid mask has caused quite a stir in the Argentine media.

Maradona, who is the manager of local club Gymnastics, appeared wearing a face shield in the form of a facial helmet at a friendly game between his side and San Lorenzo in Buenos Aires.

According to Argentine news outlet, TyC Sports, the former Barcelona and Boca Juniors man has been heavily cautious about the COVID-19 pandemic, and uses alcohol based sanitizers frequently during public appearances.

The Argentine league had been on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and Maradona says he cannot wait for football to return to Argentina.

“I miss football just like everyone else. There is not one Argentine who doesn’t want football to return, he said.
