Kumasi Asante Kotoko have requested to change their home venue from the Accra Sports Stadium to the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale for the remainder of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season, Citi Sports can confirm.

In a letter sighted by Citi Sports, the Porcupine Warriors did not state the reason for wanting to move to the Northern Regional capital where they will also be expected to host their CAF Champions League home games.

Kotoko say CAF has approved the facility to host continental matches.

Kotoko switched to the Accra Sports Stadium following the closure of the Baba Yara Stadium for renovation works last season.

So far, they have played just one home game in the 2020/2021 season, drawing 1-1 with Techiman Eleven Wonders.

They held Mauritanian side FC Nouadibhou to a 1-1 in the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary qualifying round match on Sunday and will host the return leg in a week’s time.
