The 18th edition of the Accra Seniors Open has begun at the Accra Lawn Tennis Club. The tournament will run from 17-29 November 2020.
The tournament started in 2002 under the patronage of the former Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. I. C Quaye, who graced the finals of the first edition.
The inaugural edition featured 80 players but has now expanded to over 250 participants.
The tournament comprises Social players, professionals, local and foreign residents in Ghana.
The participants will compete in events such as Ladies Singles, Men’s Singles, Semi and Singles Professional, Ladies Doubles, Men’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles.
Speaking to Citi Sports, Peter Annan, the tournament organizer, said he expects this year’s event to be fun and competitive.
“Well this year, what I want to see is good tennis, good new players, and competition among the athletes regardless of the category they will play.”
