Allianz Life denies reports of ‘talks’ with GFA over insurance deal for GPL players

Reading Time: 2 mins read

Allianz Life Insurance has rejected reports that it is brokering a deal with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to become the official insurance partners of the Ghana Premier League.

Some media reports had indicated that the supposed deal between the two entities will involve a “cash component which will be supplemented by insurance cover” for all current players in the country’s top flight.

Allianz called out one particular report by 442gh.com and insisted that it was neither in direct discussions with the GFA as their story suggested, nor had it contracted a third party to engage the FA.

“The company wishes to state unequivocally that it is not in any discussion with Ghana Football Association, whether directly or through its assigns neither has Allianz Insurance nor Allianz Life Insurance commissioned any entity to begin any such discussion on its behalf.”

The company urged the public to disregard these reports in the statement signed by their Head of Marketing and Communication, Elaine Arthur.

The Ghana Premier League enters its fourth matchweek this weekend with games taking place across the country.

Re: Ghana FA in ‘serious’ talks with Allianz Insurance

The attention of Allianz Life Insurance has been drawn to a publication on 442gh.com on the above-mentioned subject.

The content of the publication suggests that Allianz Life Insurance is engaged in talks with the Ghana Football Association to become the official insurance company of the Ghana Premier League.

The company wishes to state unequivocally that it is not in any discussion with Ghana Football Association, whether directly or through its assigns neither has Allianz Insurance nor Allianz Life Insurance commissioned any entity to begin any such discussion on its behalf.

We, therefore, advise the public to disregard the news in its entirety.
