Youth Development Coach for Philadelphia Union, Faisal Chibsah believes Ghana must create a hospitable environment to enable it attract foreign born Ghanaians who are eligible to represent the country.

While some players have made the switch seamlessly in recent times it has become more complicated convincing others to play for the country of their parents.

According to him, preparations must be done behind the scenes to ensure that these players feel at home when invited.

“When we you are bringing in foreign based players to the National team, we have to prepare a plan for them to make it easy for them to adapt.” He said on Citi Tv’s the Tracker.

“Because they are coming from different environments and set-up, we don’t have the same here.

“When you bring in people like that, first we have to get to know them on a personal basis and sometimes you have to take it off the field.” He continued.

“We can’t just invite those guys here and straight away push them unto the field to perform.

“There are things we have to do from our end to make them feel comfortable and welcomed.”

The Ghana football Association have confirmed on record that contact has been made with the camps of Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah and Brighton’s Tariq Lamptey, both of whom are eligible to represent Ghana at the senior national team level.
