The management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko have settled per diems of their striking players ahead of the CAF Champions League qualifying second leg tie against Sudanese giants Al Hilal.

The players boycotted training in Sudan on Tuesday, and threatened to boycott the game itself if management did not pay all per diems owed the players from previous games.

Management met the players to try to persuade them to go ahead with training with a promise that all monies would be paid after the game but the players stood their grounds and refused to train.

This action forced club CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah and Administrative Manager Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi, to come up with an amount of $8,800 to settle the 22 players, who will each take home $400.

The Porcupine Warriors lost the first leg 1-0 in Accra a fortnight ago and must beat the Sudanese giants by a 1-goal margin if they are not overturn the result and qualify for a first Champions League group stage appearance since 2006.

Game is slated to come off in Omdurman at 13:00GMT on Wednesday 6th January, 2021.
