African champions, Al Ahly will start their CAF Champions League title defence in a tricky Group A along with Al-Merrikh SC (Sudan), Simba (Tanzania) and AS Vita Club (DR Congo) in the group stages.
The draw was held in Egypt on Friday, January 8, 2021.
The continental club competition is scheduled to run from 12 February to 17th July 2021.
Last year’s finalists, Zamalek (Egypt) are housed in Group D with 2019 winners Esperance (Tunisia), Algerian new boys TeMC Alger and Senegal’s Teungueth.
Sudanese side, Al-Hilal who knocked out Asante Kotoko have been drawn in Group B with TP Mazembe (DR Congo), CR Belouizdad (Algeria) and Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa).
The top 2 in each group will qualify for the knock out stages of the competition.
The winners of the competition will represent the continent in the FIFA Club World Cup later in the year.
