Deborah Acquah set a new indoor national record in the women’s long jump with a solid 6.65m leap at the Aggie Invitational Championships at Bryan-College Station, Texas last month.

The 25 year old Texas A&M University senior shattered the record she previously set in February 2020 (6.58) at the Texas Tech Invitational.

Her new Personal Best leads the NCAA 2021 indoor ranking among women and is just 17cm shy of an automatic Tokyo Olympic Games qualifying standard.

Acquah’s latest feat also means she now holds the top 3 indoor women’s long jump national records at 6.57, 6.58, and 6.65.

She won silver for Ghana in the women’s long jump at the 2019 African Games in Rabat, Morocco.
