Egypt have been drawn in group C alongside 1992 gold medalists Spain, Australia and 2004, 2008 winners Argentina.

The Pharaohs begin their campaign against Spain on July 22 at the Sapporo Dome, before taking on Australia three days later at the same venue.

Cote d’Ivoire are also in a tough zone as they have been put in Group D with reigning Champions Brazil, Germany and Saudi Arabia.

South Africa who are in Group A have been drawn with hosts Japan, Mexico and France.

Nigeria remain the only African football team to win a gold medal at the Olympics after they defeated Argentina in the final of the 1996 games.
