Reading Time: 2 mins read

Jeffrey Schlupp made history a week ago when he overtook Michael Essien as the Ghanaian with the most appearances in the Premier League.

Schlupp’s 169th appearance in the English top-flight, at the time, was one more than the former Chelsea star. Since then, he has played two more games for Crystal Palace.

The Ghanaian’s stats may not be top tier but they are still quite impressive.

Breaking Down the Stats

Schlupp has made 111 appearances for the Eagles since moving from Leicester City, where he featured 60 times in the Premier League. Schlupp has won 63 and lost 73 of his 171 matches in the league.

Attack

Schlupp has scored 13 goals in his time in the English top-flight and created 10 more for his teammates. Eight of his goals have been with his dominant left foot, four with his right and one with his head. He has also created 14 big chances for his sides

Defence

Schlupp, who has played quite a few times in defence, has helped his sides keep 17 clean sheets, although they have conceded 175 goals in that period.

He has made 302 tackles, with an extraordinary 69% tackle success rate. He has also made 193 interceptions, 226 clearances and 636 recoveries. Schlupp has unfortunately scored one own goal and committed one error leading to a goal.

Discipline

Jeffrey Schlupp has never been sent off in the 171 matches he has played but he has conceded 129 fouls and received 16 yellow cards.

…Oh and he has won one Premier League title too.
