GPL: “It’s not over yet”: Samuel Boadu implores players to stay focused in title race

Hearts of Oak head coach Samuel Boadu has called on his players to stay focused and get across the line before celebrating.

The Phobians took a giant step towards the Ghana Premier League title with a 1-0 win over rivals Asante Kotoko, courtesy the second half strike by Daniel Afriyie Barnieh.

The victory took Samuel Boadu’s men three points clear at the top with just three games remaining.

Many believe the win has all but cemented Hearts of Oak’s chase for a first league title in 12 years but the former Medeama boss thinks the remaining games are not just mere formality.

”It is not going to be easy at all. We do respect all the Premier League clubs that we take match after match,” Boadu told StarTimes in his post-match speech.

”We have finished with this match and the subsequent matches, we take it one by one.

”Not yet we have to fight hard to get all the three matches (nine points).

”I can say that we are course but we need to work extra and win the next match against [Ebusua] Dwarfs.”

Hearts of Oak’s three games are against Ebusua Dwarfs, Liberty Professionals and WAFA.
