Division One League side Accra lions have earned promotion to the Ghana Premier League for the first time six years after the club was established.

The Accra based club beat Danbort 3-1 on Sunday via goals from Dominic Nsobila (brace) and Oliver Amedor to seal their elevation to the Ghana top flight.

Accra Lions was founded in December 2015 and begun from the second tier.

They join Bibiani Gold Stars as two of the three teams who will be promoted to the Ghana Premier League and they will be replacing Liberty Professionals, Ebusua Dwarfs and Inter Allies who have been relegated from the top flight.

Zone one will go down to the wire to find out which team will be joining Accra Lions and Bibiani Gold Stars in the Ghana Premier League.
