GPL: Kotoko finally congratulate Hearts of Oak four weeks after Phobians won title

Kumasi Asante Kotoko have finally congratulated rivals Accra Hearts of Oak, four weeks after the Phobians were crowned Ghana Premier  League Champions.

Hearts of Oak won the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League last month, and many expected Kotoko to congratulate the Phobians in the spirit of sportsmanship, but the message never never came.

Perhaps they were waiting for the Phobians to do the domestic double because the Porcupine Warriors wasted no time in sending out the belated congratulatory message following Hearts of Oak’s victory in the MTN FA Cup final against Ashantigold on Sunday night.

Accra Hearts of Oak beat AshantiGold 8-7 on penalties to win the 2020/21 MTN FA Cup at the Accra sports stadium on Sunday.

Goalkeeper Richard Atta was the hero on the day as he scored the last kick to help his side win their first double in 21 years.

Congratulations @HeartsOfOakGH on winning the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League and the FA Cup titles.
See you next season 🤝#AKSC #TogetherWeCan https://t.co/EmGAAXNjSm
