Relive Ghana’s win over Ethiopia at the Cape Coast Stadium in pictures

Ghana’s performance in their 1-0 win over Ethiopia might not have been loved by all fans but there was still a lot to savour.

The vibrant 2000-plus crowd more than made up for the COVID-19-enforced emptiness at the Cape Coast stadium last Friday.

From the strong tackles to the near misses, player and staff complaints and one of the most bizarre goals ever scored, which ironically was not the most bizarre thing to happen at the Cape Coast stadium during a Black Stars game; Friday’s match was not without incident.

A dominant first half for the Black Stars looked set to end goalless until Mubarak Wakaso hit a 40-yard shot that somehow went through Ethiopian goalkeeper Shamko and into the back of the net.

While there weren’t any more goals in the second half, there were plenty of moments for Citi Sports’ man behind the lens – Yaw Antwi Owusu – to document.

Take a look at some of the best moments of the match in pictures below.
