Eight players are set to leave Kumasi Asante Kotoko before the start of the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League season kicks off on October 29, 2021.

The exiting players consists of those whose contracts will be terminated and others who will be shipped out on loan, Citi Sports has learned.

The contracts of club captain Emmanuel Gyamfi and defender Habib Mohammed will be terminated due to what the club deems as unsatisfactory conduct.

Midfielder Latif Anabila, who was only signed from Ashantigold last season, has been told by head coach Prosper Nartey that he will not be counting on him going forward.  Kwame Adom Frimpong has also been axed because the coach does not consider him as part of his plans.

The players who will be heading out on loan include Godfred Asiamah, Emmanuel Sarkodie, Osman Ibrahim and Samuel Frimpong.

Ibrahim is attracting interest from King Faisal, where he spent a successful loan spell during the 2019/2020 season.

Medeama meanwhile, have shown interest in Samuel Frimpong looking for a permanent deal, but Kotoko are only reportedly interested in a loan.

The Porcupine Warriors have already signed eight new players ahead of the 2021/2022 season.

Augustine Agyapong, Samuel Boateng and Isaac Oppong  joined from clubs in the Ghanaian third-tier.

Two other players – Maxwell Kofi Agyemang and Clinton Opoku were also signed after shining in the second tier just last season.

Richmond Lamptey was the first club’s signing from relegated Ghana Premier League side Inter Allies.

Medeama SC duo Richard Boadu and Samuel Appiah were also announced on Monday.
